Dr. Van Allen is proud to call East Tennessee home. A Farragut native, he spent his formative years as an Admiral at FHS before becoming a Volunteer at the University of Tennessee. He earned his dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, then became a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and served for four years. While providing dental care to our nation's Sailors and Marines, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his humanitarian work in Guatemala and Honduras.
Following his military service, Dr. Van Allen completed orthodontics residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, and then entered private practice in Philadelphia and then Las Vegas. A Board-Certified Orthodontist, he approaches orthodontics with his personal philosophy: that exceptional orthodontics is the perfect intersection of evidence-based theory, creative vision, and skillful execution.
When he isn't helping patients, Dr. Van Allen enjoys life in East Tennessee with his wife, Shayna, their two young sons, and two hounds. During his free time, he loves long-distance trail running and woodworking. Be sure to wave if you see him out on a run!
